Explaining Burnout to Younger Kids

Free

Description

This resource helps children understand burnout as an energy-based experience rather than a behaviour. It explains why neurodivergent brains can use more energy throughout the day, how burnout shows up (e.g., overwhelm, irritability, deep tiredness), and what supports recovery, such as reducing demands, increasing predictability, and prioritising rest.

It also includes a simple energy scale (1–5) to help children notice their capacity and ask for support early.
